General Specktrum dx6i mode change

Hi All
I have two specktrum DX6i transmitters mode 2 .At my club they are all mode 1
I successfully changed one to mode 1 following the u tube instructions
But when I opened the second one it was totally different and I could not change over the spring etc

I did re programme it to mode 1 and that's ok and it works but I have now not got the auto return to the center on the left stick elevator because I could not change the spring over inside the unit

I hope this makes sense .May I have your comments please
