Don't throw that plastic tube in the trash, it's not an aerial. that is to run that metal rod through for your elevator and rudder to keep them from binding. You will epoxy or glue them into place so that the rod comes from yoru servo, through the plastic tube then to the control surface. same thing in my telemaster.

Looks like a fun kit. I remember building the Telemaster and wish I had a room like yours to build it. I may have actually finished it lmao. Good luck with the build and keep us updated!

Kit's are a blast bro. Just make sure you have a perfectly flat surface to build on, use CA and not wood glue and take your time and it will turn out great.

Ok so i got some of this kit built today. Very time taking especially since i want this to be great lol. Could use some more specialty tools but hey i can adapt. So i got the rudder and vertical fin all assembled and hinges are dry fitted. Rough sanded it for now will do all sanding near the end.

So while is was building my little helper brought something downstairs by us. I had to stop and help him so it would stop falling down. He says he can build the plane if i want him to.

Thanks Jeff ya I have it made lol. And that is just my hobby room :witless:. So i will tell you all this that building a balsa plane is so peaceful and allot of attention to detail. Alot of gluing cutting and sanding to boot. But the end result shows how good of a builder you really are. So i got the joiner rod installed and elevator hinges dry fitted and the elevator rough sanded. Im thinking when i start the wings i am going to epoxy the joints on these just for added strength and then sand the epoxy down.

Just get a LiFe battery like I'm running in the 600. It's a 6.6 volt battery so if your servos can't handle that much voltage, you will need a BEC. I'm running a 2100mah battery myself.

Yeah, I know it's a nitro. But, if your servos can't handle the 6.6 volts that the LiFe is putting out, then you will need to get a BEC to lower the voltage. 5 volts is perfect for anything but Futaba servos. then you need to go down to about 4.5-4.7 volts.

Ok anybody have an idea what i can use the life 1300 for i went with a different setup lol. The wing on this plane is very beefy. I have it layed out but i dont have time to epoxy everything at one time till this weekend. And then i can start the other yada yada time consuming but very enjoying. Ya im going old school for battery lol.

Why are you giving up on the LiFe? that is the best pack you can get with the best run time. NiMh is MUCH heavier and doesn't last as long. AND you have to take greater care of them or they will die. But, why are you changing? We need more information. I don't exactly know what you are going to do.

ok so I don't know if the servos I'm us ing on this plane can handle 6v can not find the rating anywhere. JRNES9021. and I ordered just a switch no regulator according to my instructor I will be able to fly a day at the field on one 700mah battery so this 1300 life would be great

so I searched for a decent price regulator and came up empty lol. but I did find the one on my heli cost 90 bucks though lol. so I could order a life for the heli and problem solved lol.

Ok so i have been building the left wing and let me tell you how fun and exciting it is. This is the first i have ever done so the right wing should go a little faster lol. i took my sweet time not to forget or do something wrong. Still have more work on it but just sharing an updat for now. I hope you enjoy watching this bird come alive.
