450 Question on motor blade 450x

Hello All
I’m new to the RC stuff again it’s been 25 plus years for me.
Any way I have a question picked up a used blade 450x and I my going through it replacing parts and upgrading it my question what battery ,motor {(it has a 480 now) and pinion gear should I go with just good solid flying

Hi John,
Is the motor dead, thats in it now?
There are many to choose from.
Align motors are ok and cheap.
I have used these motors with great success.
Turnigy 2836 Brushless 450-Size Heli Motor 3700kv
It comes with an 11T and 13T pinion. The 11T pinion works really well for general flying.

Battery would be a 2200mah pack. Many brand.
Gens Ace, Pulse, Glacier are great brands.

Actually, that motor that Lee mentioned...I have that same motor in my Trex 450 Pro DFC. I have an 11 tooth pinion on the motor and that combo seems to work very well for me and doesn't seem to overwork the motor and esc.

As for batteries, yes, 3S 2200mah packs are perfect for the 450 helicopters.

Thanks Lee and Derek for that information. I'm just going to order a motor for my 450 from HK with a canopy /batteries for the 500 I have. That motor works for you guys then you got my vote on ordering one for my 450. I using a stock Walkera for the time being.
