Today's the big day, this thing is going up, and coming down one way or another.

If I can wrangle a willing camera person hopefully I'll have video of that too.

Before I send her up, can anyone read over these Watt Meter specs and let me know if I'm overlooking anything bad?

Motor specs:
HK-010 WattMeter - D3536/8 1000KV
Batt: 3S 2200mAh 25C
Prop: 10x7
Max A: 30A
Max W: 430W
1160g Thrust

Watt Reader Readout (WOT@15Sec):
21.1Amp
11.23V
.102Ah
236.3W

Estimated Flying Time: 6.5Min

(Vids are upside down.....will have to fix that)

Just got back from the maiden. It flies, oh boy does it fly. This thing is a rocket, but my controls were way off, and I crashed and burned. Waiting for the hot glue gun to heat up before heading out again.

Round two, it flew almost perfectly. Stayed aloft for 5 minutes before low voltage alarm sounded, a result of voltage sag as when I landed I was still at 70% MAH remaining. Perhaps a change of prop, I have no idea how to correct it. Flew in a circle and botched the landing. It really needs landing gear. Have to make a new fuselage as its beaten to oblivion. Will get more footage next time.

The 30 seconds that I saw it, it looked good. Remember, you don't have to fly this thing at 100% throttle. If you back it down for a bit, she will tame out and fly nice and smooth. The only thing you need to watch when flying slow is tip stalling. It cna also drop the tail if you are going too slow.

Otherwise, it looked great.

Now you know how it's going to handle so build your new fuse and have a blast. If you want an even faster plane, you can cut about 3" off the tips of the wings. I did this to Matt's plane and the thing is a rocket for being a trainer.

just completed my 2 rc-help trainer plane
i have put (3) 2mm carbon rods in the wing to maintain the dihedral's shape beacause late time i broked the wing due to rough runways
i have aslo used 4 plates to hold the motor mount in place is the motor was very heavy
and i have reversed the front landing gear because of this i have nice clearance to use a 13" pro

There are two 12" cold cathodes inside the fuse. Then 46 LED's in the wing, all run off a 1000mah 3s lipo. I still have the wing in that picture, but the fuse is long gone.
