Guess it helps to be friends with the owner of BlueSkyRC.com
Because I just received my new kit the day it was listed on the site... So I get the chance to be the first to build one, except for the owner.. :p

I just got it in the mail today, but I have already got a lot done..
Thought I would share a few pics of what I have built today.

Here is the build of my New xRotor IFrame Clear View FPV Quad by BlueSkyRC.com

You may ask what the Clear view means?
It is a quad that has the camera mount plate out in front of your props.
No more props in you FPV videos just a Clear View.

I will be taking a few pics as I build my new quad.

Here is a list of the parts I will be using:

xRotor IFrame Clear View FPV frame from BlueSkyRC.com

Tiger Motors MT-2208-18 1100 KV -ClubHeli.com
20 amp Flashed ESC's RCtimer.com

MultiWii Control Board
Bob's Super Simple Shield for MultiWii
Arduino Pro Mini 5V 16MHz MEGA328P
Wii Motion Plus - Black (Japanese Version)

Time to put the frame sections togehter

06 - xRotor IFrame.JPG

I use a rubber mallet to snug up my parts
I use the 5/16 stick that fits between the tabs
to tighten it even more.

Ready for glue

Now to build the center section of the frame

All frame sections glued... I will wait to put the control board protection
on after I drill the holes to mount the flight control board.

11 - xRotor IFrame.JPG

All that is left to do is cut my arms for the motors and the frame sections.
Should get that done Tues evening.

I made my arms 14" and the frame arms are 12"..

Little more progress this evening...

I got all my arms cut today and drilled for screws. I will add a few more screws to the top after I get through putting clear on the IFrame.
My arms are just a bit longer than suggested size. I am planning on using a 9" props.

I also drilled the center plate to accept my control board. You may already do this on your wood builds, but for the ones that don't....
I take a 3/32 drill bit and drill a pilot hole, then run a M3 metal screw in and out of the hole a few times.
This will make the nylon standoffs screw in a bit easier, which support my MultiWII board.

IFrame ready for a clear coat

14 - xRotor IFrame.JPG
extra screws will be added to the top after I give it a clear coat.

Oh yeah... weight...

Here is the weight of my build at this point.

Two coats of clear and half of my frame screws in. As I said before my arms are longer than suggested stock.
So your weight could be lighter built stock.

Weight is listed in oz and grams

Got it finished and ready to go... but we have one of those all day soaker type of days. 100% chance of rain.
But I did hover it in my garage just a bit.

I have to use 8x4.5 props till my 9x5 Grauupners come in.
The video TX is a 300mW 1.3gHz . I used T-Rex 500 landing.
I also use a lost plane buzzer when doing FPV. It is a must if you fly
a wooded area and happen to go down. It makes finding you Multirotor or plane a lot easier.
I have used it 2 times on one of my other quads.

Thanks... Yeah I hope it does keep vibration down too. I just wish my 9x5 props would come in this week...
Almost got my ground station all done. All my wiring is complete, I just need to figure out a way to mount my
Helical antenna on the front side . It will need to be removed when transporting, so I will have to do some head scratching
to get it figured out. :)

Had a break in the rain today so I did a little test flying
The new quad seems like it will do well can't wait to try some FPV.
I was going to fly more but the rain came back in..

Well so much for the next flight being smooth... LOL

I did find out it was a radio problem and not the battery... I just got a EZUHF setup to go on my quad.
I want out run my range then.
The quad was not hurt at all just a cracked prop and my foam camera box I mad for my gopro.

Thats was very lucky you missed the water. Nice and smooth, even in the wind.

Well just tried out my New EZUHF system today. It works great no more interference with my video setup.

I installed it on my old Futaba 9c fm radio. Now I will have radio range of a few miles or more with no problem.
But with a quad you don't fly that far out because of the flight times. Same the long range for my new FPV plane I built.

Not sure yet.... I have see someone fly 2.6 miles with a 200mw system. The one I use on the quad is 300mw and my plane has 800mw

Got my props in and got a chance to fly them Sat. I really love the Graupner props they make a big difference.
I am using the 9x5 e with my 1100kv T-Motors. I will try to get a video Tues evening.
This is how my quad looks with the New props and UHF RX. I also made a foam box for my GoPro. It helps protect the camera and much lighter
than the plastic case. And if I have any vibration it want transfer it to the video.
But with the new props there is very little if any at all.

She looks great. Lets see some video. That tx antenna looks massive! She must have some great range with that antenna. Is the RX antenna the same?

You can see the Radio ant. in the rear of the quad. It is the long black straight rod.

Here is a video I did sat.
It is nothing special , just making a few laps around our field.

Looks nice and steady anyways! Good flight. I bought some polar pro polarizer filters for my go pro. I got them on e bay. Soon had I get a chance to check them out I'll let you know how they work. Looks like you might need some for your camera too. Little glare in this shot!

I was wondering. Can you send me the link to the sight you get your music from? I don't remember witch tread it was in.
