What I've heard is that the 3gx is very unpredictable to set up and you're better off with a different FBL unit like the Beast, Ikon and etc. BTW you need not worry about asking any dumb questions on this site. It's the only way to help you out and maybe others at the same time so...ask away :).

ok
as you know I have some helis
one Trex 600 is set with beast and I have activated via PayPal one extra function for horizontal stability
works great
one Trex 600 is set with 3gx
the 450 Trex was also with 3gx v4
I tried to update it to v5
the manual suggested to run through the set up again
so I did
but on the last step I tried to write the parameters to the unit and it died
no led is blinking
as if there is no power
or its burned
I tried another unit and it works
so the question is
how shall I know wether its burned or if I can reset it somehow

Just my :2c: but if you don't want any more headaches I would substitute the 3gx for anything else like the beast you have on one of your Trex. Can't wait for a video :).

sorry to hear this
I have 3 units 3xg flying at the moment
I can't say I am expert
still learning
I can't see big differences between 3gx and beast
but as I said I don't fly heelys 3d that much
mostly scale flights

I had several 3gx systems and tried all the all the versions from 2 to 5 over about a year, I think 2.2 was about the most stable, just when I thought it was going great all of a sudden an unexplainable crash. I changed to BeastX and no further issues, eventually I changed again to iKon, nothing wrong with BeadtX I just preferred the setup on iKon and the field programming using am android phone & BT.
