General need help regarding mainshaft play

I am building a trex 550e 3gx, I just installed the main gear and there is an up and down movement of about 2.5mm. I installed the two supplied shims already. Do I get more shims and eliminate the play with them. It seems this will raise the main gear and I don't know if that causes a problem?

First make sure the spacer between the Maingear and the Autogear is installed. Sometimes its missed.
If its there, then also check the bearing blocks are facing the correct way.
They should be orientated so as to push the bearings into the holders and not out of them.
If thats all ok, you may need another shim on the main shaft.

2.5mm is a lot of play. Def sounds like a missing spacer.

Thank you Lee. I had the bearing blocks installed incorrectly. With the correct orientation, 2 shims and no play!!

the two shims you used, how thick were they? did the build manual call for them ?
