600 My poor 600 exploded mid-flight today!

Yeah my poor Compass Knight Sport 3D literally exploded mid-flight today! I had had it up several times and it was flying very well! First time I've flown it! And she explodes mid-flight! The whole upper half of the frame came off mid-flight! I thought the motor had exploded but after closer inspection, it was the frame itself that exploded!











I have no idea why it did this unless the plastic was just weak or something. Had no vibs or anything. Was having issues with tracking the tail but that wouldn't cause the whole frame to explode!

Yeah so now gotta decide whether I'm gonna re-kit or just sell what I can salvage and get a 550 or 600 electric bird!

Cripes! That's some damage, sorry to see it. Sometimes things just happen. Time to dig in and build another, at least you may be able to salvage some electronics for the next one.

Yeah definitely Karubah! So now just gotta decide what bird I'm going to get now! Another Nitro, or just stick with the electrics! But either way, it will be a 550-600 class bird!

People often use the expression "exploded" when their birds disintegrate mid-air, but yours looks like it actually did! That's some damage right there, sorry to see it

That's the only thing I can think is that the frame just gave up! It doesn't appear that anything came loose or anything. Only thing that could have happened was maybe a linkage popped off, but it didn't give any kind of unusual flight attitudes or anything even seconds before the explosion, was in an excellent solid 3 ft hover and was just like a bomb exploding!

Yeah definitely bro! And it didn't give any kind of twitches or anything which is why I don't believe that a linkage came loose and caused it to do this.
