Setups Intermittent osd overlay when feeding iOSD-mini from GoPro Hero 3

I'm feeding an iOSD-mini from a GoPro Hero 3 rear connector and am experiencing an on screen display that goes in and out. Does anyone know what incompatibilities might cause this? The video is here: Gopro Hero 3 problem with iOSD mini - YouTube

Figured this one out. I thought the ground on the video in of the iOSD mini was a common ground therefore did not bother to connect the ground of the gopro along with the video input. once i connected the ground of the gopro to the video input ground, works perfect.
