In case anyone here did not know this, the V959 camera can be made to work while flying with a non standard TX.
Shame it's not HD.

Super Mod & DEAL KING!
That looks awesome..

Idea: can that switch be replaced by something triggered by the transmitter? If there is a channel left on the receiver to do so?

Just an idea ... Got me thinking. :)

But great find and good job! :)

Unfortunately not, the original tx is only 4 channel.
The camera signal I believe, is a carrier encoded on the rudder channel, which is then decoded by the board to operate the camera. It all works off a 1s battery so there is another limitation.
To fit the extra hardware so you can switch from the tx would add so much weight that it would not fly.
This is just a simple and cheap workaround that anyone can do.
The camera could probably be used on something else but there are far better ones available.
