450 Greatest improvement on the HK450

I currently have two HK450's up and flying.
Each one has suffered a minor crash or "incident" as I call them. :courage:
Number 1 was rebuilt with an Align main shaft, main gear and feathering shaft.
When number 2 was rebuilt with similar parts I also replaced the stock dampers with Align dampers.
To me, the dampers seem to be the greatest improvement on these heli's.
I ended up tearing number 1 back down and replacing those dampers also.
I could not believe the improvement in the way the heli handled with the cyclic.
With the stock dampers, it was a constant correction on the cyclic.
With the new dampers it is a lot less work and a lot more enjoyable.
I was almost beginning to wonder why everybody thought these were so much fun to fly. :adoration:

I know everybody says to replace the main gear, main shaft and feathering shaft but I would have to say replacing the damper is mandatory.
FWIW, I got the idea to change the dampers on this forum.

Thanks guys !

I ran the orange KBDD dampeners in my EXI and boy what a difference they made. For $6 it was well spent, it felt more locked in on the head. Tracking may have improved just a bit also.

Dampeners are not that big of a deal for the first few flights but after that yes they are. the stock hk/exi ones are way to soft for flying with.
