Sailplanes Great Planes Siren Hot Liner

What's up pilots! I am looking at the Great Planes Siren at Tower hobbies. It is showing some weird battery suggestions. Talking about batteries in series and parallel. Does anyone know anything about this glider. Can I just drop a single battery in it? It also recommends 10cell NiMH battery. I have never used NiMH.

for a 4S-2P configuration. This configuration will deliver the
highest performance and 4-5 minutes of run time. Required is:
Four Great Planes LiPo 1500mAh 7.4V 2-cell packs

Why not just buy 2 4s pack and put them in series? Basically the same thing. I would think.

I think that's a great idea. The problem is that I don't know how much space there is in the pod. I guess i will have to wait to get the siren, and then see what I can do. Thanks

I was looking at manual #4 and it mentions a Great Planes 4.3:1 gearbox (GPMG0520). Is that in addition to the inrunner motor?
