ESC ESC and battery upgrades

Hi guys,Jeff from Ohio. A few months back I purchased the E-Flite T-34 Mentor RTF version and was studying the electrics that came with it. It has the power 25 motor ( 870kv) and a 40 amp esc, plus an 11.1 3s battery. It seems to me this plane needs at least a 60 amp esc and possibly a 4s battery for the amperage to work out right. Should I upgrade the esc and battery or will the original setup fly ok for short periods. Thanks Jeff.

The only issue I would see with this is weight.

If that motor pulls 150 watts (which is speculation since it is not listed) with a 3S battery you would be looking at around 13.51 amps. Now if you go with the 4S and still pull 150 watts then you will be at 10.13 amps so the setup that you have should be sufficient. I was not able to locate right now the ESC but I am sure it can handle it. Now e-flight does not state what the max battery size for this kit. Now the motor can handle the 4S setup just not sure on the ESC. got my info from amainhobbies.com
