FBL Gyro Cant Start the 3gx in Direct mode

I know this must be easy so i feel really stupid.I hold the set button and then i power it up via the bat port right?At first i used a lab psu at 5v to power it but it didnt work so i switched to the bec.The rx led turns on but the 3gx doesnt.Help.

Gotta have it bound to the tx with a rx connected to it ... even like a single satellite . But till that happens it won't show life

huh?im still very confused.Do I have to wire everything for the 3gx to even power up?My rx is already bound.Im using an Aurora 9 so theres not much out there to help.Most people use either jr or spektrum.I have power going to the 3gx bat port and i plugged in my rx into the bat out port.The rx powers up but the 3gx does nothing

ok finally got the 3gx to power up.Seems like everything has to be wired up servos and all.
