Motors brushless motor

OK another silly question............ how do you clean and maintain a brushless motor... took my fly boat the fairbounre in mid wales and was messing around on the beach. salt water and sand. not a good combination.................. now want to make sure it is clean and runs well........... any ideas please.......... will WD 40 kill it dead..........................

I dropped my quad in the sand twice today.
Motors were jam packed with sand.
Quick blast out with an air hose, and I was back in the air :D

I've also dropped one in the sea. Stripped the motors off the quad and dropped them in distilled water to remove the salt.
Left them to dry in some rice for a few days.
That was 3 years ago, and they still run perfectly.

I had some motors packed with wet mud due to a slight error of judgement.
I flushed them out with tap water then blew them out with air and warmed them a bit with a hot air gun.
