Hey Jeff, I haven’t been on this site for quite awhile. Where are you located. I’m in Chilliwack

    Batteries Disposal Of Lipo Batteries

hi guys, It's been awhile since I've been around. Things change and life gets busy. I'm finally getting some time to get back to flying. I've only flown a couple of my smaller helis in the last year. Finally time to get serious. I've got a couple flights in this week, good to get back in the...

    General Pitch Gauge

Level isn't as important as solid. As long as it doesn't move, recalibration will reset zero to what you are actually measuring. It's the difference in readings that tells the amount of accuracy and whether the gauge is functioning properly or not. I notice recalibrating often improves accuracy...

    General Pitch Gauge

Definitely seems a little weird. Are you sure what you are measuring is rock solid? The first reading makes sense. The second one has me scratching my head. In the first direction try shimming the object to .4 deg ( couple pieces of paper) and recalibrate level to zero. If it's still more than...

    General Pitch Gauge

The accuracy of any type of level can be determined fairly easily. Pick any surface (blade, top of motor, even a table top) and make sure it is securely fixed. Level is not necessary. Take a reading and then move the gauge 180 degrees. The reading should be exactly negative. If the numbers...

    Power Supply's Electronics Gone Wild

My opinion is there is one component with an issue. There is a transformer on the pole behind but the EMF EMI in the yard is going to be less than anywhere in the house that has any lights or appliances on. If it is EMI it's coming from something else but it would need to be fairly close...

    450 Need A Good Charger...

My background is in A/C and transformation. For that answer I'm just guessing. I don't know how the PSU converts A/C to D/C. The A/C sides of the PSUs are independent of each other so they both should have a ground connection to the case for safety in case the 120v from the wall came off and...

    450 Need A Good Charger...

You need to remove one of the DC grounds because it would cause a short circuit if you try to connect the DC side in series. If the first PSU has one leg grounded then the output from the other leg is 12v. If you connect that to the other PSU + to - then there would be a difference in potential...

General Beginners Guide To Setting Up Transmitter And Helicopter Settings

I echo Tony's suggestions. Like you my first experience with a gyro was a 3gx. It was good technology at the time but is no where near the quality of the other brands Tony mentioned and just can't compete with them in performance. I had it on a trex 450 and twice experienced unexplained...

    700 Batteries For 700 X

Thanks for the info. The 500g was bugging me. But so was the height. It was going to be very close, only a couple mm to spare. It was an awesome price 35% off but if it doesn't fit it's a $100 paper weight. The 5000 mah are out of stock so I went with a normal 60c lipo battery and kept the...

    700 Batteries For 700 X

I think C of G would be ok . I should have 1 " both forward and back for the batteries. It would be 500-520g total extra weight. Height of batter only gives me 3-4 mm spare height.

    700 Batteries For 700 X

I am looking for a couple of extra batteries for my 700x. I can get a good deal 35% off on some 6000mah graphene batteries. They would be a tight fit , just fit width and height and about 250g each more than 5000mah which are out of stock right now. Will these be suitable of will it cause me...

    600 Trex 550E

Just putting it out there but I got 4 canopies with my 550e when I bought it. If you're in a bind I can let one or two go but the postage may be $$$$. I get everything shipped across line border and I walk across to pick it up.

General Next Step From A Blade 120sr

Hey , congrats on your purchase. It a great hobby especially the builds. It keeps you thinking constantly. Thrust bearings dont move like wheel bearings do. That grease is really thick. Thrust bearings just move a few degrees back and forth. Use a silicone grease or something of similar...

    Spektrum Dx 9 & Ar6600t Rx

It's a rainy day so I'm just tweeking some settings on my helis. I've got a bit of a head scratcher I'm getting nowhere with. On my Trex 700 which I recently built, once paired with the Tx it displays RSSI strength on the flight log screen. This doesn't appear on my Trex 550 when I initialize...

    450 Forward Flight

Tony is right on the money. To get the orientation locked in on a simulator, get in a hover and setup a couple clicks of rudder trim. It will start a slow pirouette and try to keep the heli in one spot. Once you get the hang of that try it inverted. That's damn near impossible to keep on top of.

General Next Step From A Blade 120sr

I agree with all the options offered up so far. If you are wanting to build pick one of those. If you want to improve your flying skills to inverted and mild 3D, a blade 230s that has all the 3D features plus bailout should be considered. With the next step of learning flying skills, there is...

Projects 700e With Spectrum Ar6600t Receiver

Hey Peter, welcome to the site. I have just recently built a 700X with the Beastx gyro and AR6600T receiver w/ satellite. I have the same setup on a 550e as well. It seems to be a rock solid setup I have had no issues. The only thing may be the length of the servo wires. They include 1-2 in the...

    my extended fleet

An updated photo of the fleet. I finally finished off building the Trex 700. Had its maiden flight today. that was a rush. I don't know why but the nerves were there in full force. I guess the thought in the back of the mind is every step correct. Lucky I was so hesitant, one wasn't. I had set...

    ESC Align 130a Esc

No worries, I've been messing around with fine tuning. I'm a little confused on this ESC. It's a RCE-BL-130A . It doesn't program the same way the smaller ones do. Do I need that Align asbox that's in the manual or can I get software in my PC and plug it into it to check settings?
