600 Setup Spektrum Dx9 To Support Main Needle Adjustment Servo On Aux3

Well, I'm happy to report I have it working like I'd like. So now, my servo is attached to the Aux3 channel on the 8 channel receiver because it was the only unused port I had. In "system setup" go to the "channel assign" section, find aux3 and make sure it's set to AUX3:Aux3. Select "next"...

600 Setup Spektrum Dx9 To Support Main Needle Adjustment Servo On Aux3

I have a servo to my heli attached to aux3 and I'm using it to adjust my carb main needle. I went into "analog switch setup" and have the right lever set to aux3. The problem with these levers is that they are very imprecise and precision is important in needle adjustment. So, I thought of...

Spektrum TM-1000 - RPM sensor on brushless motor

Correction to above regarding governor...the governor function is found on the align ESC...check to make sure your model has this feature and turn it on in setup. Read the manual for your particular ESC over several times as it can be somewhat confusing. It is done by putting the ESC into...

    FBL Gyro Tail Went Crazy

Previous advice is likely correct. Check the gyro tail settings. Seems odd that it would change just by working on linkage, but, maybe it was wrong to begin with? Can't hurt to check all your gyro settings.

FBL Gyro Raptor 50 Fbl Help Needed

If you haven't already got one...get the manual for the beatx and read it several times to familiarize yourself with what each of the setup and parameter settings control. The manual also has info about the three dials on the gyro and, again, what they do and what some of the symptoms are with...

FBL Gyro Raptor 50 Fbl Help Needed

Check parameter menu item "F" and use the default "off" setting. Also, check dial "3" probably want it about centered between + and -. If I'm correct this is a nitro Raptor 50 so you might also have a vibration issue?

FBL Gyro Raptor 50 Fbl Help Needed

Remember there's two gains...one on the Tx and the second is on the BeastX. Look in the beastx manual at the back there's some troubleshooting tips. Might have to increase gain. How does it fly in forward flight?

FBL Gyro Raptor 50 Fbl Help Needed

If you're having drifts issues, increase the gain until it holds. FYI, tail wag can also be cause by too low a head speed.

FBL Gyro Raptor 50 Fbl Help Needed

Gain adjustment comes after you've properly setup the tail linkage and arms; and, you want your linkage from the tail servo out to the tail linkage to be as smooth and easy to move as you can get it. Take the link off at the tail servo and move the linkage back and forth...it should be easy to...

FBL Gyro Raptor 50 Fbl Help Needed

While you want to setup with zero pitch at mid-stick, you may want to set your pitch curve so that you've got about 4-5 degrees positive pitch at mid-stick. That way you'll hover at just about mid-stick and from mid-stick to max pitch you've got a lot of stick for relatively small amount of...

FBL Gyro Raptor 50 Fbl Help Needed

Basic procedure for any heli is to start at the servo and work your way up. As mentioned previously, get those parallel servo arms exactly the same length. Get the swash level, I've found the Rohrs swash leveling tool works great for that. I use a compass-like tool which has points at each...

    Dx8 Phoenix 5.5 Switches

If you choose to use the "control edit" section, you'll have to know which switch controls which "aux" port. You should be able to find that info quite easily online.

    Dx8 Phoenix 5.5 Switches

You have full access to the switches if you go into the file -> control menu. You can set those to defaults and just use the setup that's already in your tx.

    Batteries Charge With Balance Port?

You can charge via the balance port - my first trex 450 from align included a charger that did that - but for a faster charge and more control it's recommended to have both the balance port and the output connected to a balance charger.

600 trex 600N servos tilt to one side on spool up

Make sure your main shaft is not bent. I had this same problem and it was caused by a bent main shaft.

    450 Tail wag

You can also get wag if your head speed is too low; however, you've got to get the linkage slicker than you know what! Take the link off the servo arm and move it...it needs to move very easily, else it'll wag.

    500 FLYBAR'D 450/500 SETUP

After struggling with various types of flybar locks - including the one from Ron Lund - I devised my own which works very well and is quite easy to make. Here are the basic instructions: 1.) Make a platform out of 3/8" plywood large enough to place your heli on plus about 4-4.5" ; 2.) Center...

    FBL Gyro AR7200BX Tail Issues

I guess one has to weigh the cost of a new servo against the cost of many other parts if the questionable servo would fail in flight. I think if I saw any sign of inconsistency in the servo I'd replace it - the alternative is simply too costly.

    FBL Gyro AR7200BX Tail Issues

I've found that the align ds415m and ds416m servos will not take much abuse (i.e. crash). While they are "metal" gear servo's, there is one really bad weak point and that is where the main gear of the servo (largest gear) sits on the shaft, there is actually a nylon (plastic) area that lines up...
