Projects 1913 Benoist Flying Boat sgratch build

You aren't going to believe this but I got a bunch more photos. By the way, Bruce had to make/shape everything by hand. Hundreds of hours of painstaking work.

Projects 1913 Benoist Flying Boat sgratch build

Bruce, the builder, feels that to produce the power needed to get the craft off the water, a gas motor would be heavier.

Projects 1913 Benoist Flying Boat sgratch build

About a year ago my friend and mentor, Bruce Harlow, began to scratch build a 1/3 scale, 1913, Benoist Flying Boat. History shows that the Benoist Flying Boat, on 01 January 1914, became the first regularly schedule airline. Unable to locate any plans for this aircraft, Bruce enlisted the help...

Wow, that is great. Good luck on your build. Yes, that is basically a weed eater motor.

Kits The moment has come the Telemaster flies

Hi Wolfman. The J3 on the bench is a 1/4 scale and utilizes a 26cc gasoline engine. It has more than adequate power with out being over powered.

    Other Turnigy 9XR mixing

Using the information given to me by Stambo I was able to Mix the elevator with the flaps so that I got about 10% down elevator with and about 30% flaps when I activated the Gear Switch. My next endeavor was to have another switch to deploy about 10-15% down flaps to give a little extra lift on...

    Other Turnigy 9XR mixing

Slow activation sounds interesting and might be something I will try a little later. I think I will try the 3 position switch next. Right now I am working on my Diamond 2500, 2.5M, powered Glider. I had it programed to my Spectrum 6i so that when I activated my gear switch it gave me about a 10%...

    Other Turnigy 9XR mixing

OMG!!! It worked. I found my error and corrected it and it works fine now. The mistake I made was that for some stupid reason I put Elev in as the switch rather than Gear. Thanx STAMBO.

    Other Turnigy 9XR mixing

I tried that last night and it didn't work. I will try it again as I may have done something wrong. I do not have the USB cable but I will order one.

    Other Turnigy 9XR mixing

Okay. I answered my own questions. Opentx is new programing that replaces the regular 9xr programing. Thank you for your help. Apparently the 9xr is not all the radio I had hoped for or at least not without upgrades.

    Other Turnigy 9XR mixing

Okay. I have a few questions. What is opentx and where do I find it? From memory add this mix in your elevator channel? Do I simply make a copy of the elevator mix and drop it down under the same channel, (in this case channel 3)?

    Other Turnigy 9XR mixing

I recently purchased a 9XR to replace my aging Spectrum 6i. Programing the 9XR was quite different but I managed to program my 4 channel planes with out too much difficulty. I, however, have a couple of planes that have flaps. As you folks know, when you deploy landing flaps the craft noses up...

Sailplanes 2M PNP Minimoa from HobbyKing

I ordered the Minimoa From Hobby King's US warehouse for $115.00 which included shipping. Much to my delight it arrived 4 days later. This PNP kit came with everything needed to build the plane, except the TX, RX and 2200Mah, 11.1 volt battery. This even included two bars of steel weighing about...

Sailplanes Art Tech Diamond 2500 assembly and maiden

The Diamond 2500 is rather large, (8ft wing span), and it takes a lot of room to land her. I am going to install flaps which will shorten the glide distance for landing. It also helps when you catch thermals.

Sailplanes Art Tech Diamond 2500 assembly and maiden

Thanx Lee, I just might have found a real Diamond here, (pun intended).

Sailplanes Art Tech Diamond 2500 assembly and maiden

My Art Tech Diamond 2500 arrived a couple of days ago in one large double packed box. I found no damaged or missing parts. According to the advertisements, you simply screw down the vertical stab, mount the wings, charge the battery and you are flying. Sounds easy enough but it is a bit more...

I was preparing a new thread under Sailplanes titled Art Tech Diamond 2500 assembly and maiden and was trying to post some pictures when everything locked up and the draft vanished. How can I get that draft back?
