600 Uri's Big bird build journal

Are all the repairs done now Uri? For battery connectors on my 700 size helis i just use bullets. Bullets are the neatest way to connect 2 x 6S packs in series with the least number of connections. The (big) downside with bullets is it's quite easy to short circuit the battery. If using bullets...

A photo of how you have it wired might help.

    General Tail blade size ?

I'd also not even consider putting significantly bigger blades on. The hub and tail shaft aren't designed for the weight of those bigger blades, especially when spinning at the higher RPM that a 450 size heli runs at compared to a 500/550. It would be asking for trouble IMHO, and for no benefit...

    General turnigy transmitters

Most if not all of the Turnigy transmitters are re-labelled FlySky products. The one you posted the picture of is a FlySky FS-i6 with a Turnigy label stuck on. I've no personal experience of FlySky transmitters but from what I hear they are ok bearing in mind the cheap price. Range shouldn't be...

Kits Aeroworks Edge 540 50cc ARF QB

You dont need to use both battery ports on the receiver, in fact if you are powering the servos off a power board there would be no point in doing so because most of the power goes through the board. Personally i wouldn't worry too much about a receiver with one sat if the plane is wood...

EDF airplanes for Beginners and kits

I don't want to pour cold water on anyone's ambitions, but EDF jet models really aren't suitable for beginners. You would be much better starting off with a 'normal' propeller driven trainer type model and graduate to jet models later down the road once you have plenty of experience. Trying to...

450 Crashed Blade 450x, repaired and seeing a little problem. Please help!

If the arms are those supplied with the ready to fly heli then they must be the correct length, if it was working ok when you got it with those same arms then the problem must be elsewhere. Sorry I cant help with AR7200BX setup because I've never used one, but others here have.

450 Crashed Blade 450x, repaired and seeing a little problem. Please help!

ok, so if the servos are moving normally then they just need setting up as per the normal AR7200BX setup procedure.

450 Crashed Blade 450x, repaired and seeing a little problem. Please help!

Hi Martin, welcome to the forum. Just so we can fully understand the problem.. I'm reading that your heli tipped over and now the servo doesnt move correctly and won't return to centre?.. Is that right? If that's the case then you have stripped the gears inside the servo when it tipped. Blade...

    450 Tarot 450

I'm not sure if this helps but the AR7210BX is basically the same FBL controller as the Micobeast Plus (but with integrated receiver) They both use the same firmware and both use the same StudioX software. This is the manual covering the setup of the 'Pro' features on the Microbeast, so it...

    450 T-Rex 450L Dominater 6S

Tail shake is a gyro gain issue (i.e. if it's a fast shake then tail gain is too high ).. Not a trim issue.

    450 T-Rex 450L Dominater 6S

Well done, that's a great maiden flight! You are right to be proud. I'll just add a +1 to the last comment about not using trim. IMHO the best thing to do is disable trims in the Tx setup so that you cant inadvertently add trim. Some tail shake when she's spooling is not unusual, spooling with...

    450 T-Rex 450L Dominater 6S

Yes, it fits perfectly, same shaft diameter and the geometry works great with a Vbar. I had to cut down a Trex shaft but otherwise a simple conversion. I'll post some photos over in the 600 forum.

    450 T-Rex 450L Dominater 6S

Seems like this is a common problem across most of the Align heads. The head geometry just isn't optimised for most FBL controllers. The geometry was fine for the 3GX and Gpro but now Align are supplying the Microbeast with their kits they should sort it out. On the 600 you can get longer arms...

    Piro Tuning (Spirit Pro)

Phil, The 600 Pro is really the only Trex heli that I know inside out due to doing various modifications and upgrades to my own 600 Pro. The 550 shares many parts with the 600 so a lot of what I learned on the 600 transferred right over. I think your 550e is the earlier version which will have...

    Piro Tuning (Spirit Pro)

Phil, I thought that we were talking about the tail bevel gears, not the auto rotation gears or front TT drive gears? I'll try to tell the whole story.... All the tail bevel gears are dimensionally the same and directly interchangeable black or white, you could even use one black and one...

    Piro Tuning (Spirit Pro)

Your dealer is wrong, the black fit and work perfectly fine, they are 100% identical apart from the colour/grade of plastic. That's why the white gears are no longer available, the black ones supercede them. My Trex 600 Pro originally had the exact same white gears (the 550 and 600 use the same...

    Piro Tuning (Spirit Pro)

The bigger UK dealers such as Fast-lad, Align-Trex.co.uk and Midlands Helis should all have those parts in and i think they do shipping within Europe. If it is keeping you grounded and you can find the parts just let me know and i'll check my box of spares, I'm 90% sure i have a set though they...

    450 T-Rex 450L Dominater 6S

The geometry of Align DFC heads means you cant get 'ideal' setup on some FBL controllers, i know this is the case with the Vbar. But you should be able to get close if not quite perfect. For sure if you are at 14/20 deg when you are aiming for 6 then something is seriously amiss in the basic setup.

    Piro Tuning (Spirit Pro)

Phil, I'm with you on buying only what you need right now. Buying spares up front is a mug's game IMHO. Unless you virtually have a spare airframe you hardly ever have all the parts you need so you almost invariably end up having to place a top-up order anyway. My policy is to let the dealer...
