Thanks for the kind words, honestly I'm a chicken, the stuff i do i take ages to get up the courage to try. Anyway.. the KDS is the more heavily loaded heli. It's slightly heavier in weight than the Goblin 770 so it's rotor disk loading is quite a bit higher. This makes it a little less...

    700 My New T-Rex 700X Build

Phil, You shamed me into doing the job on my pushrod right rather than relying on the workaround of the offset servo arm. The way I did it was heat up the threaded rod at the end of the pushrod with a soldering iron then once they get hot the glue holding them in softens and they pull out...

That's a pain Tony, at least the Tx is ok though.

Nice job on the pushrod. What did you use for the end fittings?

    Spektrum Spektrum DX7 - DSM2 - Should I be worried?

FWIW the standard/recommended throttle setting for failsafe on planes (and helis) is fully closed throttle. The biggest reason being that if you were to inadvertently turn off the Tx first or otherwise lose signal while on the ground and in the pits you dont want the motor powering itself up...

I offset the arm on mine by turning the arm on the spline, the vbar doesnt allow for subtrimming the tail servo. This is what the servo arm looks like with the tail pitch control arm set parallel to the boom:

Yeah, the rod is a bit short. I offset the arm to point back a bit which worked ok but i intend to get some longer ball links when i get around to it.

Phil, you probably know this already but the tail servo is 1520us / 333hz.

450 Align trex 450l help please

Looks good in the video from what I can see. +1 on Tony's advice, just use HH mode and don't spool the heli up indoors, you wouldn't believe how horribly wrong that can go in the blink of an eye. Oh, and also never use trim or sub trim on a flybarless heli. PS.. where in the UK are you?

I didn't realised that you had reached an impasse at that setup point, sorry. Unfortunately as the axon and the Jeti are something I've not 'played with' there isn't much more I can offer in the way of help unless you wanted to go to the trouble of videoing the process and seeing if I or anyone...

    700 My New T-Rex 700X Build

PS.. it's a real shame that we aren't closer because I have a box of spares that could easily be used to narrow down the problem. That includes a spare Align 130A ESC that I got with my donor airframe.

    700 My New T-Rex 700X Build

Phil, Again, I'd recommend getting the FBL fully set up, all the servos working, pitch range set etc, and moving on the ESC last of all. For sure I'd not go buying a new ESC at this stage. If you have a servo tester you can manually set the ESC throttle range by plugging in the ESC throttle...

I'm running the Hobbywing 160A V4 in the 770. Weights (excluding batteries) are: Goblin 770 Carbon Comp = 4.03 Trex 700X = 3.72 Including 12S 5000mAh Turnigy batteries: Goblin 770 Carbon Comp = 5.69 Kg Trex 700X = 5.38 Kg A few of points to note: The Goblin is the Carbon edition so has...

    700 My New T-Rex 700X Build

The Axon will need to be set to the appropriate receiver input type before it can recognise the signal from the receiver (Sbus/PPM or whatever Jeti uses). That would also explain why the ESC isnt getting a throttle signal.

    700 My New T-Rex 700X Build

Phil, If it were me I'd not worry about the ESC for now. I'd see if the FBL is working ok. Reason for this is that the FBL may need you to set throttle range during FBL setup, you would want to do that before moving on to the ESC. If just for piece of mind you want to check out the ESC quickly...

Keith, 'glassing' is the application of very lightweight glass cloth and resin over the top of wood or foam to produce a smooth and tough fibreglass skin. It's popular on large scale models because it can produce a very scale like finish for warbirds and jets etc. It's a lot or work though, you...

    Spektrum Spektrum DX7 - DSM2 - Should I be worried?

For info... The Brown out' flashing with DSM2 only occurs if the receiver has lost power and 'rebooted''. It doesnt indicate a loss of reception. DSM2 actually locks onto two frequencies and stays on them, so if one frequency suffers interference it can use the other. DSMX uses frequency...

    Spektrum Spektrum DX7 - DSM2 - Should I be worried?

I think they are probably being honest but they are most likely 'misguided'. Myths and superstitions can grow from a few people crashing in the same part of the field and all of a sudden that part of the field gets a reputation for being a 'interference zone'. So did the guy's plane go to full...

I've been flying 4 days running, pretty good weather every day although cold. here's a pic and vid from today: https://youtu.be/KVAeiEw-R14 All helis returned home unscathed and I'm getting confidence back with the 700X after the crash a couple of weeks ago.
