Yes the Trex 470 gets great review (I dont have one myself). You could also look at the 'LP' version which is the same heli but just with some plastic parts where the LM has metal.. They both fly exactly the same but the LP is a fair bit cheaper. The DX9 is a good Tx, cant go wrong there.

You cant connect 18 channels direct to the AR7700 because it simply doesn't have enough connections. You would have to use the SRXL serial output into a flight controller or other device that supports SRXL.

Yeah, it looks the same as the Align one. The Align gauge is ok and works well enough but is quite sensitive to even the tiniest vibration so the digits tend to hunt slightly. You maybe just got a bad one, that can happen with any brand.
