Chargers PSU for high wattage charger

I was looking at a few videos and some folks use old PSUs from computers. Can anyone give tips on choosing one and what to do after getting one? The charger I am looking at getting is the knockoff called Antimatter from Banggood.

I use Juice box power supplies, made by Strick Model Products. Mine are 24v, 75A, 1800watt. But they do make them in 12v as well. I think they were right at $100 each. I got them from Ebay, from a very reputable seller, and they have been flawless. They come with pre-soldered bullet connectors to plug the charger into, but I had to supply my own A/C power cords.

The DPS 600PB that Tony used ion his video are good options, they are readily available on eBay and very cheap (about $20) and a single one has more power than you need. You only would want one which makes modification much easier. In fact when using a single DPS600PB there is no modification required other than attaching the wires.

The only real downsides of the DPS600PB is that it's a pretty big unit and quite noisy unless you slow the fan down.

Geena's option looks great too but obviously a bit more expensive.

As Steve stated, you will not have to float the DC ground if you only use one. And I would HIGHLY suggest jumping the fan pin to slow it down otherwise it will sound like a jet engine in your office lmao. It will kick the fan on high bypassing the slow fan mod when it needs it. But if you are drawing under 400w, I doubt it will ever come on.

And yes, Geena's option is better if you are not looking for 'industrial' style PSU's. But if you are like me... BROKE... Then these are a great option and the reason I went with them.

I`m really happy with the juice box power supplies. They run my PL8 duo at full capacity with no problems, and they were way cheaper than a meanwell 2000 from Progressive. Best part is...I didn`t have to modify them, isolate grounds, or anything else. Just plug and play

Also the dps 1200 by HP is supposed to be a great high power option. It's smaller and lighter than most power supplies.
