FBL Gyro Tail Servo Getting Hot

I didn't realize until recently that if the tail gain is set too high it can make the tail servo hot to the touch.. also if the type of tail servo in the fbl unit is set wrong it could ruin the tail servo..

That is correct. The higher the gain, the harder it works to keep it in the same place. And you definitely need to set the correct pulse width and make sure the Hz is not too high for the servo.

Another thing that helps is get your mechanical setup on the tail as close to perfect as you can in RATE mode before you setup the Gyro in HH mode.
If the tail does not center naturally the gyro and servo has to work harder to keep it centered, some people go further and want 2° right deflection on the rotor blade but I find center is close enough.
