Odd behaviour, OpenTX and Phoenix 4

I just reflashed my Turnigy 9x with OpenTX FW, went through the basic setup, plugged in the Phoenix USB cable, the TX powered up normally with the switch off, but Phoenix said my TX wasn't connected. Tried pulling the module, no joy, then decided to try powering up the radio. BINGO! This has been my biggest issue with Phoenix/TX, sometimes it sees my radio with the module in, sometimes I have to remove the module, and now it requires that the power switch be on after switching to OpenTX.

So, is this just how it's going to be, or is there some setting I can change in the program or TX to fix it? Thanks.

Get the wireless dongle and an rx. You will never regret it.
That's what I use on my stock 9x, no cords, no tangles, no hassles.
I fly on my 42" plasma which is a reasonable distance from my PC.
I got sick of having to sit in my computer chair close to the PC with the Phoenix dongle.
Now I sit back in my reclining lounge chair with my legs up. :)
