General Need a bit of help with my Sab Goblin 570,

When I switch from normal flight mode to idle up 1, my heli drops about 20 ft. of altitude. I have a linier pitch curve in idle up 1. 0-25-50-75-100. In normal mode I have 40-45-50-75-100. Also when I switch from idle up 1 back to normal mode for landing, my heli shoots up about 10 ft in altitude. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue.?

Hey Ron. Sweet heli. I don't have a Goblin and not sure what ESC you are using. I'm using a Hobbywing platinum 120 esc on my XLPower 550 with the gov on. Here are my settings;
Pitch curve
N) 46/48/50/75/100 smooth landing
1) 0/25/50/75/100
2) 0/25/50/75/100

Throttle curve
N) 0/65/65/65/65
1) 75/75/75/75/75
2) 80/80/80/80/80

I use straight curves and some use v curves. These are just my settings that work for me.

Sounds to me like you have some sort of pitch mixing enabled somewhere. Either that, or you could be applying pitch unintentionally when you`re flipping the IU switch. Try taking the helicopter up pretty high, and then take your hand completely off of the collective/throttle stick before you switch to IU. If the helicopter still drops altitude, start looking in the transmitter for any mixes you may have unintentionally turned on. Your pitch curves are definitely not the issue, so it has to be mixing, or unintentional collective input. Let us know what ya find out.

Ok, I tried your suggestion about going up nice and high, hands off, switch to idle up 1, still had the same issue with losing altitude quickly, or gaining altitude quickly when switching back to normal . Checked radio for any mixing, all mixing was inhibited. So I changed my idle up 1 pitch curve to match my normal pitch curve and I still had the same issue when going to idle up 1 and also when switching from idle up 1 back to normal. So I still don't know what is causing my problem.

Hey D.O.G. I am using a Castle Creations 160 hv ESC. the throttle curves that they suggest are N: 0-30-30-30-30-30, !:70-70-70-70-70, 2: 100-100-100-100-100. So I have been using their suggestions. I did use the pitch curves that you suggested, but still no difference in the dropping altitude and gaining altitude when switching from Normal to idle up 1 and back. Next time out I will try your throttle curves to see if that helps.

Check your pitch curves again. The only thing i can think that would do this is if you had a pitch curve in normal mode that gave you more positive pitch.

What FBL are you using? If it's a Neo check that the 'lightness' settling is the same in all flight modes.

Or the other sure fire fix... Dont use normal mode.
