Your transmitter should be able to limit the amount of throw to that channel. I don't know if you are actuating it with a transmitter switch or not. But you should be able to limit both directions of throw. You will probably have the latch extended at the normal position of the switch. Then, with the correct servo direction, limit the amount of servo action till the latch is just exposed on the outside of the fuse.

Centering done physically, throw length gets adjusted through Transmitter.

Yes I am planning to put that servo on a switch on my TX and I have the turnigy 9x and the dx6

Yeah, use servo travel limit settings to keep the min and max position where you want it.
