hey I have a 1/8th scale hsp buggy an my center dif. gear is missing teeths
I wanted to kno does it matter if it has more or less teeths an would I have to replace
anything to make it run again ....my main gear only has 44 teeths

Adding teeth to the spur gear will give you more power to take off, but will lower your top speed. Taking teeth away will make it softer taking off and will raise your top speed, but could burn your clutch is you go too high. Hope this helps.

It would be the exact opposite. Adding teeth will give you more top speed, but less torque to get there. And removing teeth would allow you to take off faster, but would lower your top speed. And as a rule of thumb, 1 pinion tooth is equal to 3 teeth on the spur. So be careful if you go changing your pinion.
