ESC FunFlyer ESC

Hello. Does anyone know if a HobbyWing FunFlyer 40a ESC/ BEC works fine for casual flying in a 3s 450 heli? I've heard that the v3 platinum 50a ESC is a good ESC to buy but you also need to purchased the programming box. Together it comes out to be around $90.00 and I can't afford that. So i was thinking of purchasing the FunFlyer if it's any good. I Can use some input. Thanks in advance.

It works fine. I had one on an old 450.
You don't need the program box for the V3 Platinum. You can programme it with the sticks, just as you would have to for the Funfly if you wanted to change settings.
All Platinum defaults are fine except the motor Timing, frequency and Gov. Just follow the manual, its quite simple.
