General FPV antennas?

I was wondering if a matching set of 5.8 GHz FPV antenna for TX/RX like Immerision, Triumph or I B Crazy is worth the money to purchase a set or just use what I have. My goggles has a patch antenna with a aomway antenna and the quad has a 4 leaf antenna. I wasn't sure if the reception would be any better with matching antenna or not. Thanks advance

If you are talking about going with two clover antennas, then no. The patch has a very narrow FOV which means you can fly further from it as long as your patch is pointing towards the transmitter. But if you are going to be going to the side or behind you, then you would need the clovers. If you have diversity, then put one patch and one clover on it and call it good.

Hey Tony. I left the goggles antennas alone "Patch & clover" like you mention but I did pick up 2 antennas for the 180 that came in the other day . Pagoda 5.8ghz RHCP Antenna (SMA) - FPV Antennas - FPV Racing For the price, I'll try it out.

Just make sure the antennas on your goggles are also RHCP as well.
