Ok, moving this away from the 450 heli section to the video section.

After a short day of overtime, I came home to relax by burning t more batteries while lunch was heating up.

It looks like I may be able to stop centering the video frame on the horizon, lol.

Battery 1. Found Eye needed to take a hair off the Gyro gain, and a click or two of aft elevator.

Battery 2. Uneasy start, but regained composure.

Heading out to our flying field later this afternoon. Hope to get some more Heli, and a few plane flights captured.

Well, might as well toss ' em here.
I was getting some stick time with the 130x today at the local parking garage.
A total of 8 take off's and 8 different unscheduled landings.
One battery used and one set of skids needed after the landings.
The first video ends with me dropping it before it exits the 2nd story opening.

Second video is Flight 4, Lost Orientation on the Right again.

Third video, Flights 5,6 and 7. Trying to master that right side return.

Video 4, Flight 8 and end of lunch for today. Cost me one set of skids.

Not the best, but workin' my way up there. Weather should be nice enough this weekend for a 300X and possibly a 450XL flight.

This was a great collection of flight time! Looks like you are getting a handle on things. Well done!

Trying out the idle up settings on the 130x with DX6i. Tough take off, falling off a table, but recovered well enough. Hit the switch at 40 seconds into the flight. IU Throttle curve: 85, 85, 70, 85, 85.
Nearly took stucco off the ceiling at one point,( 1:45 ), kept it from planting into the carpet though. Same table is unforgiving with landings.
Sorry for the KeyCam settings. First video looked like a night flight.
And I only blurt out "Crap" at some point in the landing, so the video has a chance of staying up for a bit.

OK, pulled off a few flights with the 300x outside during lunch. A southeastern wind 5-7 mph kept things interesting. This would be blowing at me from right to left.
4 videos shot, two different locations.
Location 1, Bunker Hill Forest Preserve.

Location 2, ball field with skids sticking into the infield.

The final flight of the day did not make it to video and I am kinda glad. I was doing a left to right pass when I caught one of the stronger gusts, and it shot me upwards as I was entering my right side return to me. When it went up, I was about 20° from getting nose towards me when I tried to lower it with a cyclic forward to nose down. Well, the wind helped that move and I panicked and pulled the cyclic stick back and pumped the throttle a bit more. I was heading towards the fenced backstop and "Airplane Mode" kicked in and I pulled back even harder on the cyclic.
First Loop with the 300x but went nose first into home plate. SAFE!!!!!
Well, not really. Landing skid, elevator turnbuckle, one CF main blade, and the brand new Blade canopy in pieces.

You are going to want to check the main shaft and feathering shaft as well. I can assure you the feathering shaft is bent, I can see it in the pictures. It looks like the main shaft is bent in the picture, but it may just be the angle of the swash messing with me.

Yep Tony, Feathering shaft and a minor tweak to the main shaft. Also had the head bolt shear leaving some remains in the main shaft.
Still rather light damage, so I am quite happy.

and main shaft on glass test,

Also make sure you didn't snap the top or bottom jesus bolts. Ever since I started using the frame stiffener I snap the top one in almost every crash.

edit: oops, sorry. Didn't update the view before replying. Looks like you did snap it and caught it. :)

Thanks Paul, in the field I did notice a bit more play in the main gear to main shaft connection. That hole was slightly elongated too. Seems those stresses in the metal were the deformations causing the failure on the glass test. When viewing the shaft spinning from the top, there was an ever so slight wobble. Just could not verify it till totally removed.
I did also check the back of the frame around the main shaft bearing and saw no visual cracks. I guess the Frame Stiffener paid for itself with this first crash.
And I can guess that more than 50% of the damage cost is on plastic cosmetic parts that could not handle the stress at 34°F. i.e. Canopy and Skids.
I do have to look for a replacement servo. My left side one has a click in it now.
Should I just buy a gear set for it or a replacement servo as a whole?

Super Mod & DEAL KING!
If there is an ever so slight wobble from top... Inspect why.. That is enough to cause vibes. I haven't read far back enough to kow what the issues was.. But I know that elongated hole can cause a minor pitch change during flight in high stress manuever.. And a wobbly shaft... Well you know... Destruction :)

Happy Camper. Local Hobby store here, Strictly RC , http://strictlyrc.net/ set me up with E-Flight DS76 Gear set, Blade Feathering Shaft pack, 300x Landing gear, 300x Yel/Grn canopy, Blade 300x Woody Main Blades and a 130x set of black skids for $44.
I also have an xTreme swash and metal D gear arriving today for the 130x and picked up a cheap FAI Fuselage for the mCPx. Don't mind it's gonna be temperatures in the 20's this weekend, Eye got some work to do.

Got most of everything back together. Only thing left to do is put the new gear set into the servo on the 300x, and wish for the cold to snap.
Here is the EyeSquadron, Heli Group tonight. Tarot/Align 450 w/zyx-s, Align 450 xl w/ G410r Gyro, soon to be replaced with the GA250 from Tony. Blade 300x w/AR7200bx, Blade 130x and Blade mCPx with new fuse/frame.

This weekend was wicked cold, so never got a chance to get out. But today, I packed up the 300x and took it back to the parking garage for a test spool up to see how I did with the setup after repair. Got up and around without a problem. I will have to go back and check my elevator centering again as I had a bit of backwards travel at hover.
I have yet to piro this baby, and the few 1/4 piro's I did seemed to change level on me. I can piro my 130x without much drift. I cannot rule out bad input from my thumbs, but the garage does not offer enough head space or a soft enough landing surface to warrant a full piro attempt.
But repair is complete and she is back in the air once again.

Are there things in the Beastx setup that I may not have perfect yet, that may cause a piro to tip out of a level hover?
