Other Can I power an frsky rx with 1s lipo

I have a 4 year old son that rides a 50cc quad bike.
This thing is capable of 45kmh but at present is governed enough so I can keep up with it at a run.
As he is getting better at riding I am gradually increasing the available power.
Before it gets to the stage that he can get away from me I want to install an RC kill switch.

So my question, can I power an rx with a 1 cell lipo or will I need a 2 cell and bec.

I figure a full charged lipo at 4.2v is getting close to the 5v that most becs and ESCs run.

I have a low voltage relay coming that I can control with the rx to kill the ignition.

I suppose I could just try it but I am sure someone here will have done so already.

I would run a 2s pack and just make sure you have a HV servo on it. I know the servos that I purchased for the clone can handle 7.4 volts and they are fast, and cheap. Well, the tail servo is anyway lmao.

I checked the specs for the rx and it can handle 3 to 16v, now I just have to figure how to make it trigger a relay.

Hopefully this should do the trick, no relay required.
