600 Secret Parts/not so secret any more

It certainly is!! My wee boy could not believe it!! He thought it was a light sabre, which i told the Mrs it was:) She does not know what it is yet, but will this week when the rest comes in the post:)

I can't see you waiting long to get this in the air. :D It is so much easier to fly than a 450.
 
Here here ..... It really is sooo ... much easier than flying the 450. Wish I had got a 600 or 700 first! (although the repair bill would have been huge)

Full of the start of woman flu, time of year, some parts arrived, mostly nuts ,bolts etc, but also front gear. This cheared me up:)

If your face looks like that now, wait till you spool it up. You'll need a change of underwear LOL.
Just as a personal thing, I like to turn the rear landing gear to face the other way. Gives a wider footprint.
 
Thanks Lee, i did have it that way, then i looked at a manual i downloaded and changed it so both antenna holes were on the LHS. Glad you said that ,i will put them back. It made sense to me that they were that way as like you i thought it spread the load better:) Great minds and all that:)

Yeah Lee has some good advice re the Landing gear .... it looks funny ... but it actually holds the tail up out of the dirt! also ... I noticed you have done the tail gears and transmission bevel gears. Just make sure you have seated the bearings all the way home and double check you have good play in the gears (Hold the head and you should try to move the tail rotor) you should see and feel about 2 - 3 mm of rotation before the gears engage the next tooth. If you have none.... you will almost certainly shear and strip the gears in mid air at some point in the near future.

I checked for backlash in the gears and found a tight spot at the time of building, which kind of threw me a bit at first, as the bearing seats against the shoulder of the bevel gear. Even so, there was still enough play to correct it. I would imagine this has caught a few people out that don't know about bearings. In simple terms the bearing had gone on squint, I call it toggling, which was a surprise to me It was very hard to see visually due to the white colour of the gear. The tight spot did it for me,which on spool up would have manifested itself as a massive vibration.
