1 MORE Heli Flyer at Rc-Help

Well, I guesse its time for me to tell yall about me,

Franks the name, rc stuff is my game, Started in rc with a 1/10 Corvette in 1976.

Now, in the last years, built a rc Lowrider 1/10 and 1/24 scale, Dragsters in 1/10, Drifters same scale.

So, I deceided to give a hand at a CP Heli. Bought it, built it. Tried to fly it, and smashed it,
Learned how to fix and make things more robust since I was a kid, so lookin at the helis of today,
Carbon and plastic, crash and replace is not my game, I made improvements on the sturdiness of my heli,
No carbon anymore, I made it from aluminium. I crash now, and not much happens, mainshaft, tailboom, feathering shafts, blades.
Back in the air in about 2 hrs of work. Thats what we want to do. isnt it? Fly.

I have posted in the 450 thread on the build up of this bird, The start of the Aluminum 450.

I am gettin better at hovering, and goin left, right, front, rear all tail in. And this with about 6 batterys of learning. At hmm 5min. a batt.

Not including the 4 batt packs of trimming a new built heli, with no help in sight. So 10 packs in all.

Well, I think thats about all for now, Now ya know alittle about me. NOW we can be friends. lol

Ohh, I dont know about that 1 , I dont even have that sim, Just heli-x 4.
Maybe someday man, I flew on Phoenix at a friends house, and he was like, Hey, have you ever flown a rc heli?
Thats what got me started, man, my wife hates him for that 1. I love him. lol
Was doin inverted, and he flipped out. Real cp helis aint that easy to fly, like in the sims. in my eyes.

1 day maybe, but at the moment, im busy flyin the 450 I built, practice makes perfect ya know.
Thanks for the invite, youll know when ya see me. Crash and Burn man will be my name, if somebody dont steal that name first.

What do ya think of heli-X, not anything like real flying in my eyes, let me know what think about it.

Not at al. I find it so much harder to do stuff on the Sim than in real life. Which could be a good thing i guess. You do need to play around with the heli config to get them flying more like the real thing. I've been using it for 2.5 years now. Its the best you can get for Mac so until i get Windows working on here it will do.

Send me a pm with what I can do to make them fly like a real rc heli, if ya could.
Using a dx-6i on it. No mods but setting up tx to work.

It will depend on your heli. I fly a Trex 600 but in the Sim i fly a E6. You have the Flight mode in the config menu. Play with the Expo and DR in there and the Gain menu to the bottom right until it feels similar to your heli.

Will enjoy posting here, I like building custom stuff, and my heli is 1 of them, I customized the hell out of it.
I have other stuff I build too, but dont know if here is the right place to post the pics. And no, there not porn pics either lol
Just cars that I built over the last 100 years. lol Hmm, some cars are porn though.

Ya I know, allready broke 1 of the legs off and bent the skids too, hard landing again.
which training gear leg size should I get for it?
5mm Fiberglass or should I make my own. These were all I had laying around.
5mm costs over here like 25 bucks, I need some to cushion the landing, as some times I hit the pavement hard at times.

Most just buy wooden dowels and make there own. I used the carbon fiber ones from Xheli.com I cant recall the size 3 or 4 mm diameter. Those lasted about 3 months with hard landings and other mishaps.
