    OLDDDD rc helicpopter problem.

Have you flown helis before? As a general rule helis are very hard to fly, almost certainly they are the most challenging on any type of RC model. Older helis are harder than modern ones as they don't have the benefit of modern gyro and flybarless technology. Add to this that any heli that's...

    General Beginner's help

I guess for a school project the self build option might work better and get you better marks (if the project is marked?). If the school has all the tools then that certainly helps.

    General Beginner's help

That looks like a good budget option as an introduction to RC flying, but FPV would probably double the cost. If you forget FPV for the moment then it looks like a good plan and the plane would be easily capable of carrying a small 'keychain' type video camera if you wanted to do onboard video...

    600 The Goblin is done

Looks good to me Neil. I'm sure you don't need to increase head gain as such, but having as much as possible without the onset of nodding or wobbling makes the heli more 'locked' compared to lower gain.. Not that it looks loose in any way.

    My obsession with R/C aircraft

I'm sure lots of help will be forthcoming if you can provide all the details of the helis in question and the exact problem you are having. As a general guide, the Align manuals are quite good, so if you follow them meticulously step by step you will have a functional heli by the last turn of...

    600 The Goblin is done

Great to see that you got some flying in Neil. The head damping is very stiff on the big Goblins especially so on the 630 because it uses the same head and the same dampers as the 700 and 770. It's not a 'problem' as such because it really needs those higher headspeeds to fly like a Goblin...

    General Beginner's help

Hi Mira, Sounds like a fun project but if you are needing 'everything' including transmitter, servos, receiver, speed controller, motor, battery, FPV equipment, charger etc etc etc...... Then I'm afraid £80 is not even close to enough money for such a project. In fact for £80 you would find...

    FBL Gyro 3gx power issue

Best option might be get a better ESC with decent built in BEC. But a separate BEC would work too. Yes, If using an external BEC you have to disconnect (don't cut) the red wire on the lead that goes from the ESC to the FBL/receiver. Just pull the pin out of the plug, fold the red wire back and...

    FBL Gyro 3gx power issue

I'd say you are are probably correct, sounds like the BEC can't supply enough power for all the servos. You could try rapidly moving all the controls and see if it 'browns-out' under load. What ESC is it?

Spektrum New Spektrum transmitters: DX20 and DX8 gen2

I'm not sure it will make a lot of difference. The price is so much higher than the DX18 that it puts itself into a different price bracket. Possibly some DX18 owners will upgrade which might put some more DX18's on the used market?

    ESC castle edge 100 problems

only other thing I can think of is the ESC throttle is plugged into the wrong channel on the Rx. To test you can plug the rudder or elevator into the connection that the ESC is now in and see if the servo moves when you move the throttle stick.

    ESC castle edge 100 problems

First thing to check is that you are in the correct flight mode so that the 0 to 100 curve is active. Failing that I'm assuming we are talking about a heli with FBL controller? If so you could try plugging the throttle direct to the receiver. This is just to take the FBL controller out of the...

    Edge 540t Review

I've read a few reports of the gear ripping out of the fuselage on this plane, it does appear to be a weak point in the design. The Extreme Flight version is a bit better but will still crack the former at the rear of where the landing gear attaches if you whack it hard. The solution on the...

    I need a flying day!

Weather is diabolical here too. By the end of the first week in January we had broken the 'since records began' total rainfall record of the whole of January:frown: Lots of flooding, property damage, washed out bridges and roads, an entire holiday caravan park floated off down the river and out...

Border Collies and helis dont mix

On the ESC I can't recommend the Hobbywing 50A V3 highly enough.. I think there is a 60A version now which is even better but the 50A rox and is more than enough for a 6s 450.. Very powerful voltage adjustable BEC, excellent governor and the silkiest slow start you have ever seen. My Chase uses...

    250 HK250 wont lift off

It can really only be either lack of pitch or lack of RPM.. if you have both those things then it cant fail to at least lift off the ground. If you are 100% sure that you have enough positive pitch then it can only be RPM.

HobbyEagle A3 Super II flight stabiliser

So the wind eventually stopped howling and I got out to try a few more flights with the MX2 and the HobbyEagle stabiliser.. This thing is amazing! The hover mode is pretty much nailed. I had it hovering literally on the ground, touching the rudder down, i also did a couple of hover catches...
