Marius' learning to fly - "video diary"

oof. I haven't done the inverted direct plow into the ground yet. My inverted crash I managed to get it half flipped right side up before it went in at damn near full negative pitch. :) What's the damage?

Oh the direct plow is awesome but the sound will give you nightmares. I can hear it ringing in my ears right now. Lol

Marius,

Man good stuff right up to the crash. Looked to me like you accidentally went positive pitch. That's the problem when your that close to the ground.

That's right, reason would suggest I was supposed to go full negative - instead I go temporary brain dead and give it a good plow into the ground :D I know I should keep some altitude when practicing, but I guess I forgot in the heat of the moment or whatever LOL :D Thanks Ken.

Worst of my crashes I heard so far was when I tipped the 550X over on take off. Blade skimmed and then dig in. Sounded just like a lawn mower hitting a half decayed stump in the ground.

Super Mod & DEAL KING!
It hurts to get rid of the learning bird. It was hard for me to get rid of my 450. Got so many memories and flights with mine :D

BUT .. ALL looking forward to something AWESOME!! RIGHT? :D

Almost got hit by my friends bird today. Pretty crazy and scary!

He's sort of a rookie, but he's getting there. Usually I watch him fly, but today he said "it's my first pack so I'll take it easy" - so I thought I'd fuel the NX4 while he flew his 450. Just as I was done fueling, he suddenly yells "oh crap!" - and a millisecond after the 450 comes buzzing into the ground besides me!! He flew straight at himself (me sitting on the ground behind him, bending over the NX4) so he just managed to jump out of the way!!

Could have gone horribly wrong :( I'm never gonna turn my back unless I'm behind cover, that's for sure!

That was a close one, Marius. As you stated, one should never take their eyes from a flying bird, especially if the pilot is still learning......so lucky you.

PS: At first, I thout a real bird had almost hit your RC bird. LOL!

Love the blades cutting the grass, your a bad azz Marius. Hey the YouTube description says first of August. I know Norway is a long way from me but I didn't think you were a month ahead of the US, Lol

Great flying!

Recklessness? No, I'm thinking it was because of SMACK!!! Nothing to be ashamed with there!

I do like to see a video from you there you are deliberate on the moves. VERY smooth and precise on the flight. I'm hoping my 600 is half that stable when it's complete. Keep up the great work.

As Tony said, your flying is getting a lot more precise/deliberate, and less like a drunken mosquito LOL :D (said with admiration ;) )

Yeah, Marius, that was a great looking flight. Control over orientation changes looked solid. That rainbow with half piro looked very nice. High speed, high bank figure 8 was locked in great, with transition to backwards flight. I have some practicing to do to catch up. Not enough time in the days.
