I realize I'm a bit late, but habby B-Day Derek :D

Regarding a new bird; I LOVE my JR 600 12S. Insane power, very stable, impressive to fly and observe. Since you already have a 500, I would def go 600 or larger - or else the step is not as noticeable. You should have no problem flying a 600 either - you might be afraid of it LOL - but you will be able to control it, no prob.

My 2 cents (or however that expression goes).

Hey there, Marius! It's been a long time! Thanks for the birthday wishes!

Is there really not much difference between the 500 and the 550? Maybe I should be considering a 12S setup. Tony suggested a 10-12S setup and now you are, as well.

I like that you said that I might be afraid of the 600, lol. I'm afraid of my 500, lol but the "rush" that I get from flying it is INTENSE!!! I hope I never lose that feeling.

Has Marius stated. You allready have a 500 go to a 600 or you won't notest much difference!!!

Thanks for your thoughts, Sam! Tony and Marius have said the same thing. So, now I have 3 people telling me the same thing.....600 size and 12S setup. I will surely look into it. Id love to have a bigger heli.

Happy belated Birthday dude,
Been away for a few days.
My 600 is 8S. It has plenty of power and the batteries are cheaper. I have a friend that has a 600. He has tried 6,8,10 and 12S and prefers for power to flighttime ratio the 8S set up. Check out the Chaos 600 Supercombo on Home - RC Aerodyne | Scale RC Helicopters, Airplanes & Parts Store Its what i have and its a fantastic bird. Its an upgraded trex 600, come with everything. 6S, radio, and battery ready. $499

Thanks for the b-day wishes, Lee!

I appreciate the suggestion of the Chaos 600 heli. I've seen a few of your videos and your 600 looks and flies great.

I see that all of the Chaos 600 heli's are torque tube tail driven with the exception of the 600 kit. The kit, with no electronics, is the only belt drive heli. I'm not sure that I'm ready for a torque tube tail. I've heard that the belt drive tail is more "forgiving" if/when the tail blades touch the ground, whereas a torque tube will simply strip out gears. I do like the price of these heli's. I'll put some more thought into it. It's gonna be a while before I'm ready to get the 600, but I do know that I want one so bad, lol.

You said that your 600 is an 8S setup. Is that a single 8S lipo or two 4S lipos?

If what you want is not in the website, just give cliff a ring at the factory, and he will pretty much put together what you want. If you want a supercombo with belt, i'm sure he'll do it for you. I needed a part that wasn't on the website as a single piece, but when i spoke to them they said no worries I could have the part on its own. They are the best customer care guys i have ever dealt with, with the exception of Compass.

Can you tell me, Lee, where this place is located at? I see that their prices are listed in US dollars so I'm assuming somewhere here in the states.

Awesome! Thanks alot, Lee! I'll be spending some time looking at that site, for sure.

I want a 600 real bad.

Also..you must not have seen my question in an earlier post...you said that your 600 is an 8S setup. Are you using a single 8S lipo or two 4S lipos?

I found them not professional at all in my own experience.

they do not resock very often either ..... my case and point is

I have been waiting for nearly 2 months for them to stock this Black Widow Flybarless Rotor head - RC Aerodyne | Scale RC Helicopters, Airplanes & Parts Store

and still not in stock ... I also (last year) had my heart set on a 600 super combo kit and put myself on the waiting list..... 12 months later they finally sent me an email saying they had them in stock! .... SHOCKING

The black tail gears are now avalibull for the 600. lol Should make them allmost indistructabull!

Very cool! Would you mind taking a picture of how the lipos sit in your heli? Do they just sit on the bottom of the inner frame?

Here are the pictures of my old HK600GT. Should help you out. I think the "Pro" version has a different mounting system though.

Here you can see the mod i made to allow the batteries to be upright, instead of leaning back.
