Servos DS410M chattering/vibrating

I've stumbled over a strange problem with my elevator servo. Just above or under mid stick (collective), I'm getting strange vibrations in the servo. The arm vibrates rapidly up and down without any input. I just "feel" the stick to find the "problem spot".

Have a look and give me your thoughts:

Oh yeah, I was out flying this afternoon well aware of the problem - the bird still flies like a charm in spite of the elevator issue.

its normal for the align 410m they develop a certain amount of slop and that makes the pot to not be at the right position causes a bit of wag there in the servo. Will do just fine in flight.. if too worried.. change the gears out for a new set. I would just keep flying till it gets too bad IN FLIGHT.. :)

pro pilots dont or didnt like 410m just for this reason that they wore out quick and developed slop so manuevers couldnt be TIGHT and precise.. for us noobs.. lol. its all good! :)

Leave it to chatter for a while and then touch the servo. If its hot, then i would be careful. I had a savox servo chatter at me. It had been in a crash before and when it started chattering, the sego got really hot real quick then died. If you have a servo tester, they are good for checking things work well and don't get hot.

I'll check if it's getting hot. If not I'll continue to use it - but keep a close eye on it.

May want to look into a set of DS415's for the future. I love the 410's but the 415's are supposed to be a bit better. As far as dealing with this, they covered it above.

I opened up the servo and did what the guy did in the video. I didn't use electronics cleaner coz I didn't have any. The jittering has "calmed down" but is still there. Guess I'll get some electronics cleaner then...

On another note; the 410M is not possible to get anymore. Which sucks, because I'll have to change out all three servos. I'm a bit concerned about flying with the "faulty" servo now. We'll see.

BUT you can do like I did.. Orderd used ones. I got 5 awesome working servos and one broken servo for 50 bucks! :D :D . thats how I rebuilt my 450 pro.. I noticed that too.. I was being told to get all three new when I just needed one.. So I just did my magic found some deals :D :D heheee

I am going to give my servos a quick inspection. They are all digital though, so I doubt that they would have potentiometers inside. Thanks for the tip.

Stokke, use rubbing alcohol to clean the track. If you have it available, get some dielectric grease and put on there. That will help keep the other grease from getting down there.

I may try it. I mounted the servo back on the bird again - so I may just leave it for now as well...

I have ordered 3 DS415M now. I was ordering the batteries for the 600 and saw they had the 415's for only 20 bucks, so I thought "what the hey" and just ordered them.

Sounds like a plan bro. Now you almost have enough servos to build a 250 or something hint hint.

Looks like a cheepo to me ha ha.

Yeah. I looked up some vidz on youtube, and that bird seems lame. Maybe the pilots are noobs, but I looked at like four vidz and all flied like trainers. If I'm getting a 250 it should fly like my 450.

People buy 250's thinking "the smaller, the easier" and they find out they were wrong lol. The 250's are great to just toss into the sky and play with and if they crash, they are VERY cheap to fix. However, because parts are so small, you have to tinker with them quite a bit to get them to fly right. The first time you hear the head speed of these little things, you will think it's going to fly apart lmao.
