Electronics

After almost a year of planning my solar rig is built and functional. Lets start at the begining with the planning,. I originally started off with a deep cycle battery from Home Depot for boats. After further research what I needed was a golf cart battery.
For four years, I have been using a Dynamite Ultra Duo battery charger to keep my machines flying. The Dynamite charger has been a wonderful piece of equipment, but it recently gave up and needed to be replaced. Instead of buying another Ultra Duo, I decided to get with the program, and build a real charging case. The project started with a Plano brand handgun case from Walmart, which is very similar to the more expensive pelican cases. They are high quality cases and I use them for...
One of the most requested videos I have been asked for is "how do I parallel charge batteries". Well, the time has finally come and the video is here! Ever since we posted the video showing us charging 9 3s batteries at 30 amps, people have asked how we could do that at such a high amp rating. And the secret is, they were all in parallel with each other. When you wire batteries in parallel, you are doubling the capacity, but the voltage is staying the same. You are also doubling the...
If there is one thing that can ruin your day faster than anything, it's when a cold solder joint decides to finally come apart resulting in a crash! Always double check the factories soldered connections before it ends up costing you money!
If you have listened to RCHN towards the end then you know Justin Pucci has been working on such a thing for almost 4 years now. He has never posted the Tech tip due to the nature of the topic. This project if done wrong can be very dangerous. As of late I have been want to work with my 2 arduinos that I have. I posses 1 Uno and 1 leonardo. This project is being built on the Uno for now. I will need the Mega at some point for the analog pins. My issue with the Uno right now is that it...
Voltage Tester - Battery Voltage Tester Battery Monitor Buzzer Alarm For 1S-8S Lipo Battery This Lipo Voltage Checker for my batteries was actually included with a quad I did a review on that only had a 2s battery! I never did use it on that quad, but I have used it on every single batter that I wanted to parallel charge! This thing has become a staple in my charging setup. In one of our live streams, it was asked if you can mount this on the side of a helicopter or in a car, and the...
OK so here is why I didn’t do this earlier < INSERT EXCUSE HERE> :p heehee So.. Here is the mod for making DPS-600PB into a very reliable , compact and powerful power supply, for a fraction of the price of what you find in the market for the same (/similar) specs and reliability. Each power supply is rated at 12V 47A ~~575W . I was looking for getting 24V out, so I could hook a good size charger to it and charge a lot of my small, or few Big batteries all together. So I connected...
Sometimes the most simple solutions are over looked. That is exactly what happened to me when I only needed to charge a single small battery. In this video, I show you my solution to this little issue!

Credit for the content of this video goes to Gaba. I meant to mention this in the beginning of the video, but I was so tired at the time that I completely forgot. And after the video was done, I just decided to leave it as is rather than put a finished product in the beginning of the video. Again, Gaba is the one that got me to purchase these parts and build this kit. In this video, I show you how to modify and wire TWO HP server power supplies in series to gain 24 volts and over 1000w of...
I decided to go ahead and put both of these videos in the same thread since they are virtually the same. The only difference between the two is the DX400 is 100w more power and the DX400 has an extra 2.4a USB port. The lack of voltage still worries me a little bit though but not enough to keep me from using them with electronics that are NOT sensitive. Have a watch and let me know what you think about these inverters.
In this video, we revisit all of those letters on the front of a lipo pack. From the S Rating, to the C Rating, to MAH and even the P Rating that I have had so many questions about. As always, if you want to see a specific video, all you have to do is post up and let us know. We will do all that we can to help you out.
