Hi All,

I AM Doing a series on DX7s Backlight LED mod on my new DX7s (TEST TO ARRIVE) Using a $5.99 Hobby King Blue LED Backlight kit that was designed for the Turnigy 9x Transmitter.

I have one this before on my old DX7-se and it worked well!

So as soon as my Transmitter turns up in its box .... I will be ripping into it!

You will need:

  • A good Soldering station or iron
  • Soldering skills
  • Various heat shrink
  • Normal screw drivers and Phillips screwdrivers.
  • Hobby Knife
  • Other normal assembly tools

In the mean time, Here is part one:

How to Prepare and modify the Backlight kit ready for installation.

Hope you like the series ... I will add to the top of this post here and put a link into the latest thread as it happens.

I actually decided to remove the cumbersome PCB all together and simply ad an inline SMD resistor (or you can pinch the one out of the HK kit)
