oh Lord! they just keep on with it don't they?
Even though the AMA fought back the government over here and kept our models from being labeled anything more than what they are, and restricting them as heavily as they proposed, this agreement is only good for 2 years!
If they do that over there, the loonies will for sure think they need to do it here then!
FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!!!!! No reason for this kind of blanket fear taking away everyone's rights and enjoyments because of a few potential nut bags or the fear of someone being one!

There is some truth in it. At the moment there is a first draft of new European legislation that's out for discussion. Like the US rules, if passed it would not only be 'drones' (multi rotors) that were effected but anything that flies under remote control.
The good news is that it's far from a done deal and unlikely to get put into law in it's current form, and even if it did there is no saying if it would apply in the UK because we just voted to leave the European Union so would be no longer subject to their stupid rule making...... But you are right, now is the time to make voices heard to try to nip this in the bud.

By their reasoning we should be fitting every motor vehicle with GPS (many newer vehicles already have it) and limiting it's maximum speed to the area it is currently in.
Or maybe reporting any transgression wirelessly to the authorities.
With the current technology in motor vehicles it would only take a few lines of code in the engines computer.
Think of the countless lives would that save, there would be such an uproar though so it will never happen.

I think someone should lobby that this would be a good idea to do with the autos, then tack that onto the legislation....hehe. Think they would be proposing this then? I think not! The general population would be outraged! But what people don't realize is that this slippery slope begins with such "harmless" rulings such as this. Whereas the vast majority of people don't bat an eye at or care about something like this because it doesn't concern them, but they don't realize that sooner or later something somehow will eventually, then they'll squeal like pigs wondering how it came to this! It's a long and quiet road to the ending of one's freedoms.......it doesn't happen over night or in a year...
