Its been awhile I know, life happens and when it does its usually a giant ball of dooky.

In October I was set to do an Army training cycle in Germany. I ended my home repair job for the season in preparations of this trip. We were preparing for this training cycle for almost 6 months. I was certain it was going to happen. 2 weeks after I quit the season and my job the news came in that it was canceled. So from October to December I was jobless except for some small training things for the Army which helped keep me with some income.

At the end of December I got a Job as a janitor for one of the local school systems. This job was to be a part time as needed position. Which means income is not guaranteed. During my tenure I had another Army thing come up that took me out of the state for 6 weeks. When I came back I was put on the grounds crew (Lawn care). I really love working with grass and landscaping. I find it fun on a small scale, I find having all the schools in the district is just enough for me. We have 8 or so properties to care for. What I am not liking is people not doing it right. I can not stand doing this the wrong way. There is a part of me that hates this aspect of the job. I like to think I am valued for my knowledge and skill but every time I am reminded no one cares. All they want is what they want regardless if its right or not. Then I have to listen to them complain about the grass being short and being full of weeds. I will not be at this job much longer. I'll explain later.

While i was gone for the 6 weeks I blew out my transmission on my way home. I was about 350 miles away from home. The best part was I was able to coast off the freeway and onto an exit ramp. That exit ramp was 3 miles from the Nissan dealership and right at the front door of 2 hotels, I have a Nissan Rogue which is in my solar project article. I had the car towed to the dealership, got a room and a rental car and drove home the next day. Took about 2 weeks to get the car fixed and get back down to Virginia and get the car. That was a 12 hour day on the road.

Last weekend (Fathers Day) I took the kids camping. 2 of my kids caught fish while fishing, and the rest of us got skunked for the two days of fishing we did. Got back from camping and took the kids to the river to swim . Two of the kids tested their fates in the water and had close calls. Yeah I almost lost two kids to drowning. They didn't just had a couple of close calls. While we were out my car developed a hard thumping issues that would go away as I drove faster. So I ended the weekend and took them home.

I drove to work on Monday and I had to fix the thumbing. It was getting bad, really bad. I was told I had a bad tie rod end (outer). So I replaced the tie rod end and went to test drive the car. Long story short I still had the thumping and eventually something else broke. Today I found out it was the drive shaft. Fortunately I don't need it for normal driving. So I spent the last 5 hours removing a drive shaft from the Nissan.

So my time with the school is short. Why; I got a job that pays better. Not sure of the exact start date but it will be around the July 2nd area. I have a ton of bills to get caught up before I can think about doing anything fun. Once the funds are available I may get another heli or car. we shall see.

TO answer the nagging question, The Goblin has been a shelf queen since the fall. I have not yet flown for the season. My head has not been in the game and if I would have crashed it I would not be able to fix it. My current job does not pay enough for me to live. I can barely afford to pay the bills as it is. Thats the readers digest version of whats been going on. I hope to make it back here more regularly.

Noice. I have not replied because I have been on the phone with you through most of this lol. But yes, definitely good to see you trying to come back into the hobby. I completely understand not wanting to fly for monetary reasons in case of a crash, hell that is where I am now lol.

AAahh yes the work woes. I feel the pain also. Got called to a job not far from home, cool. Worked almost a week, lol. But these clowns don't have any aaany orginazation skills. So i worked another 4 days got my check was like cool, i can finally catch up and maybe accomplish some goals like moving out of this house, "blasted lil furry beasties runnin around" but alas so much like this trade crap. We got blueprints and no tooling to build. no bolts, no hardware. they welded on the end effectors, but they didn't clean them or touch them up with paint. blah blah blah. The chinese bought a majority of the tool building companies in the area, but they pulled the work, thanks Trump. this suuuucks!!

Firstly no politics and thank NAFTA for that. That's it no politics.

Anyhow yes working now a days is getting harder and harder. Don't be the guy with new ideas and actually have a brain. Today's employers don't care about you or what you know. All they want is production their way and that's it.

No more ranting it does not do me any good . Just drives my anxiety through the roof. Anyhow here's to a fresh start and hopefully a great company to work for.
