Trucks Trying To Help A Friend.

My friend has one of those axial trucks he says his truck will go balls to the wall when not on ground ..soon as he puts it down goes about 5 feet. He is running NIMH which i have not for a while.... so im leaning toward battery any other thoughts?

This sounds like an over current situation. I would look at the motor and ESC. If it is a brushed motor, it may just need to be replaced.
