Hi I am new to here but I am having a lot of trouble setting up my heli with the 9xr can anyone help please

I am having trouble setting up the radio and the gpro system the radio is different to what I have been using before Spektrum dx6i but with my new setup I needed more channels

First thing I would, is watch this video.
It explains very well, the differences between Spektrum set up, and 9XR, even though, they are talking about a Taranis.
If you can, I would upgrade to the firmware from Open TX.
Its so much easier to work with, than the standard version.
It has a model set up menu, that walks you through setting up, specifically for, Plane, Heli, Multirotor, or Wings.
You will need the CompanionTX software.

At the risk of confusing the issue... why didn't the DX6i have enough channels?

Sorry, i cant help much with Open Tx or the 9XR.. i did try a Taranis for a while but found the software too much like hard work. I guess the good news is FBL helis are much easier to set up in the Tx than flybar because most FBL systems don't need any swash mixing.
