Quick question which might solve all my issues. Does these two type controllers use an uninverted sbus signal?
This might be why I can't get either one of them to work or work correctly. I have both and I'm using a frsky r-xsr sbus receiver.
 
That is a good question. I wish I had an answer for you but never used sbus before. I'm sure someone here knows.
 
I am not a 3gx guru, but I will try.

I believe the 3gx was designed to work with futaba sbus and its derivatives. I don't know if frsky uses the futaba standard. If not that's probably hauntings not working.
 
Everything works with this setup minus that one aileron servo doesn't move when it tries to counter the helicopter movement. Minus that it works. It's been a real headache trying to figure this out.
 
If that doesn't work then let us know. The only other thing I can say after that try a spartin vortex. They're fairly inexpensive.
