Lol... I knew there were more variants of the spit than most... But didn't know there were that many... That's a lot!

My wife's cousin was an ace in a Spit. He was shot down too but rescued. Google John Rainvile to see his exploits.

Wow, knowing someone that was a pilot of one of these planes, AND shot down and RESCUED is just awesome! I'm going to have to look him up.

Tony: John was a very humble man and difficult to get information from He was very quiet and every inch a true gentleman
We had to pry the information out of him and he would respond to direct questions but not elaborate. He is my hero.
