Sim vs. radio control settings

I'm trying to get my TX to be in charge, but it seems like the sim over-rides my TX,at least when it comes to throttle/pitch curves. Am I stuck with having part of the setup in the sim, and if so, how do I put in idle up throttle/pitch curves? BTW, TX is a Turnigy 9x flashed with ER9x, although that's likely to change to OpenTX very soon. Again, my apologies if this is a dumb question, but I'm still claiming newb status on all of this :). Thanks.

In the model settings (advanced) there is a section for governor setup that you can change to allow normal and idle up type control from the Tx. I eblieve most models default to sim governor mode which basically will hold a specified RPM for all throttle values over like 10 or 20% (so TH will still work by default).
