Series example is.......................(2) 3S 5000 = 6S 5000
Parallel example is.......................(2) 3S 5000 = 3S 10000

Would this be correct? for some reason my brain has a big fart

Looks about right to me although I am told due to batteries internal resistance it may not be exact.
Close enough for RC though I think.

Yea I have heard the same thing but like you said close enough. The batteries that I will use both have the same number of recharge times and they are 3S 5000 so a series will give me a 6S 5000. And this will go on my new Carbon Core X4 650 quadcopter that's in the mail as we speak. I can't wait to start the build I think its gonna be fun I hope. The motors are 821 Watts 580Kv 3S - 6S 113 grams

Yep you got it... I fly 2- 2s batteries in Series to make 4s in my flying wings all the time because 4s is to thick.
If you get 2 new batteries and use them just for Series all the time you will be good.

I have a couple of 3S 5000 batteries that I have been using in parallel on my F550 so I think right now they will work good until i get some 6S batteries.
