FB Gyro Opinions from back when...

I have a Spartan Quark and Jr G7703D tail gyro and back in the day, these were considered some of the best. In your opinion, what was the best tail gyro made?

My two favorites back in the old fly bar days, were the Quark, and the Futaba GY401. Stand alone tail gyros are pretty much getting to be unobtainium now, because of the popularity of flybarless helicopters.

Yea I know. That’s why I’m trying to buy up a couple good ones before they are all gone. Flybarless gyros are getting cheaper all the time and I’ve seen some good used ones that are cheaper than some of the older single axis gyros. I still fly and love my fly bar helicopters. I have never had a Futaba GY series gyro and always wanted to try one. Maybe someday.

A lot of, if not most of the flybarless controllers can be used as a stand alone tail gyro too. So if you can`t find a good tail gyro, that could be an option for you.
