Would be great, a bit expensive though the Australian price starts at A$80K for a base model and goes up to A$171K for the fully optioned version and to get a license to fly them means a three week training coarse.

Well.. I guess it looks impressive but even if you put the price to one side the reality of ownership for hobby purposes might not be quite as much 'fun'. You wouldn't be able to fly at most club fields due being over the allowable weight limit, and for sure parks and sports fields and 'back yards' are completely out of the question. You would need special training/licence/air worthiness exemption certificate to operate. Even then it would be pretty boring as it's not designed for anything more than cruising around.

    Just call me 'kill-joy':D

It is cool, and it would definitely wow the guys at the field. But I think I would be bored with it after a few flights, since it would not be able to do 3D.

I just wonder why they aren't using a flybarless controller...

The R-Max design is about 20 years old, FBL controllers weren't around back then. I guess for the type of flying intended the flybar works fine so they never saw need to update it.

I could get a bigger HIPPO decal on that..... but like Geena said, would not be able to cut the grass with that... unless you could get it to chicken dance. now that would be a video worth watching.

It has a flybar, so no FBL unit is needed. I`m sure it has a tail gyro though.
