Quad New BlueSkyRC FPR250 Mini FPV Quad Frame

I got my hands on the New BlueSkyRC FPR250 Mini FPV Quad Frame. David @ BlueSkyRC hooked me up with one of the first ones for sale.

So I thought I might just go ahead and share my build of this small quad racer.

The naked frame weighs about 110 grams. The FPR250 uses the same arms as the WASP 280 V2 but the motor distance measures 250mm diagonal motor to motor.

A few of the things I like about this little quad is...
It gives you an optional 8 degree camera tilt for racing. No more staring at the ground in fast forward flight. But if you are more of a smooth and slow flyer you can mount the camera as normal.
Also you have easy access to the electronics once you have it complete the canopy can be removed with one screw. You don't have to remove 6 to 8 screws ever time you want to get to your RX, Control Board or other on-board items. And just 4 more screws if you need to replace an arm in the event you have a bad crash.

On with my Build...

Here is the frame and a few parts I am using

I decided to use some paint I had on-hand. I think it is a Key Lime.... or just call it light green

I put a little tape on any tab that would be fitting into a slot. You can just scrape it off once it is panted if you don't tape or miss one before you paint.

My camera don't show good color in-doors but the green is a bit brighter than it looks
Let it dry over night and start working on it in the morning.

Mine arrived on Friday! I like all the room on the top tray, and the clearance between the canopy and top plate have increased too. Looks like mine will be getting the mini TS5823 200mW VTX with flexible staff. And trying the NAZA Acro for the FC on this one.
Can't seem to get Cleanflight to connect to my boards though. I'l try again after the RX and ESC's are attached.
I see you have taped off your tabs prior to painting. Are you using a thick paint on yours. I've been using up my old water based Lexan paints left over from my Ground Pounder airbrush supplies. It winds up being more like a stain than a paint.
Can't wait to see the green-bee in the air!

Mine, in a dry fit photo op with its older sister the Wasp 280.

I got all the motors wired, and did my test on rotation...
WooHoo didn't have to change any wires I got the first one right so the rest were spot on.
The more I look at the color the more I like it...

Looks good!
You seem to be one night ahead of me. I had to call it quit here for tonight and watch some hockey.
All I have left to do is solder the motor wires, bind the RX and run it through Cleanflight.
Meet my little fish called "Wanda".

Looking good so far.
I would space that FPV cam back a bit more so it doesn't take a hit when you crash though. :)

Hey there EyeStation. That is one nice looking fish that you have there. I think i saw one down here in Fla. The fishermen calls it a "Flying Fish" Lol. Good luck with Wanda.

Out flying my FPR250 and I had a real close encounter with the power lines.
Don't as me how but I was in a sliding turn and slid between all of them without hitting one.
I went under the first one and over the one behind it..
